The outskirts of LA, desert skies … and a pause. Because even in the most beautiful of moments we need the reminder to breathe. Once, twice, three times. Nature heals. This piece was designed to deepen your healing journey, and only you can know what that truly means. Or maybe these are pretty colors and marks made on a canvas that speak to your eye and would really complement your sofa. I’m down with that too.

This piece is part of the Made in LA series, inspired by the canyon Anjalé called home and birds of paradise growing outside her grandmother’s bedroom window. It’s about the cacti and yucca trees dotting the LA mountains and the sharp blades of grass her little brother would pluck to make lizard traps in the summertime. She was made in LA, and so were these paintings.
