 Painted from a live monstera, this piece is a true peek into the artist’s brain. Or eye. Or heart. However you look at it, it is certainly not a realistic rendering of the monstera that it came from, but rather a dreamy half-truth. If you believe in parallel Universes, then maybe this is the version of the monstera that lives way out there.

This piece is part of the Planted series, an exploration of the natural world as it lives alongside us indoors. These paintings are meditations on the artist’s most beloved personal houseplants; the ones that she lives intimately beside every day. Both the act of painting the plants and the living plants themselves have kept the artist rooted, grounded, and firmly planted in the presence of her daily life.
