Harry

Harry is a surprisingly hefty little guy, measuring in at a respectable 10” square. The only potted plant in the collection, Harry came to life one morning on Catalina Island, inspired by the rugged landscape and perhaps the wiry buffalo (Idunno, am I stretching here?) One thing’s for sure - there has only ever been and will only ever be ONE Harry, guaranteed.

This piece is part of the “Planted” series, an exploration of the natural world as it lives alongside us indoors. These paintings are meditations on the artist’s most beloved personal houseplants; the ones that she lives intimately beside every day. Both the act of painting the plants and the living plants themselves have kept the artist rooted, grounded, and firmly planted in the presence of her daily life.
